SAN FRANCISCO, CA. – March 1, 2022 — Academy of Art University, one of the largest private, accredited art and design schools in the US, is recognized in several categories as one of the top universities in the nation for degree programs in Animation from the School of Animation & Visual Effects.
The rankings, done by Animation Career Review, compared nearly 200 educational institutions with Animation programs across the nation. Colleges and programs are ranked on a myriad of criteria, most notably, academy reputation, depth and breadth of the program faculty, and value as it relates to tuition and indebtedness.
Out of the top 50 Animation schools in the US, the Academy ranked 14th – the top 8%. When it comes to graduate degrees, the Academy ranked #2 nationally among schools offering an Animation related MS/MA. Reviewers are impressed with the Academy’s studio production environment, known as Studio X, an in-house, student-run production studio that works on real projects with real clients.
Animation Review also ranked the Academy 6th out of the top 25 schools on the West Coast, and 6th out of the top 20 Animation schools in California. The BFA program in Animation ranked 11th out of the top 50 schools nationally.
