MFA Acting Program
We are recruiting our MFA Class of 2025 at the URTA Auditions in Philadelphia, PA Fullerton, CA, Chicago IL & Virtual Auditions.
We are looking for curious, charismatic actors who are “all-in” to rocket to the next level in film and television— because we are serious about getting you there. Every aspect of your technique gets personal, highly specific attention by our expert faculty— helping you realize your full potential as an actor. You will gain meaningful experience rapidly and effectively: in auditions, on set and in the studio/rehearsal room. We offer holistically-driven, conservatory-inspired training in a joyful, highly creative environment. You will develop power and consistency in your ability to transform and connect emotionally with audiences. You will create original material (improvise, write, produce, direct—and if you wish, shoot and edit). You will originate roles and explore contemporary scripts, working with highly-skilled directors and crews—both professionals and fellow graduate students. At the end of your 3-year MFA program, you’ll be confident in your acting process and have an impressive reel that proves your ability to succeed artistically in the industry.

Immerse Yourself in On-Camera Acting
Develop your ability to bring characters and conflict to life in Reel Development. Learn how to holistically merge your in-depth training in Alexander Technique for Camera, Creating Physical Character, Meisner, and Script Analysis into a consistent, imaginative process that works for you and allows you to rise to the challenge of memorable roles. You will star in multiple scenes shot on our many soundstages, curated for you by our in-house casting director on sets designed by our art department. Our professional directors, cinematographers and editors will help shape your performances as you grow to your full potential as an actor in our vibrant, hyper-creative working environment.

Events
NXTUP
Films in which you appear will be seen and critiqued by high-profile casting directors, producers, writers and directors during our annual NXTUp Film Festival. Numerous actors have received casting invitations from NXTUp judges post-festival. The festival is streamed live to audiences in every corner of the world.
Production Hub – Act in PSAs
Volunteer your talents for projects that give exposure to not-for-profit organizations and public agencies. These PSAs are streamed around the world and have won awards in national and international film festivals.
