The School of Interaction and UI/UX Design’s AA program guides students through the fundamentals of design for digital media. Students are introduced to core visual and user experience principles, web design, motion graphics, and the latest software and technology. Graduates will be well prepared to continue their education in the school’s BFA program.

AA INTERACTION & UI/UX DESIGN DEGREE REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum grade of C- in all major coursework.
  • Minimum 2.0 GPA and the following general education requirements:
    2 Art Historical Awareness courses
    1 Creative Communication course
    1 Written Communication: Critical Thinking course
    1 Employment Communications & Practices course

After above general education requirements are met, take Liberal Arts electives as needed to fulfill the Liberal Arts unit requirement.

  • Apply the basic principles of composition and implement grid systems in layouts
  • Make typographic choices that effectively communicate information hierarchy
  • Demonstrate effective use of color and imagery

  • Diagram the user experience

Technical Skills

  • Demonstrate facility industry standard tools and applications
  • Format content for communication across mediums
  • Demonstrate coding skills by building functional products and prototypes

  • Produce basic materials required for an entry-level job search
